Progress…

The week before easter I could work on the car for a week and fix some stuff in the interior. The doors are now soundproofed, as well as some of the sheets above the gearbox and the firewall to the engine. The seats in the back are cleaned and mounted. The doors have all the plastics, a new rear view mirror is in the car and all the sun screens are were they should be. The new engine has arrived at the workshop and is waiting to be mounted…

Restauration…

A couple of years back I bought an UMM Cournil. The car was not in a really good shape and it’s undergoing restauration currently to get road worthy and nice looking again.

Here are a couple of pictures how it looked before restauration:

What is done: a complete paint job, as the old paint was pretty shabby and there was rust starting at some places. Then a new motor, as the old one is beyond repair (damaged head); and a new gear box – the old gear box itself was still OK, but the reduction gears did not work anymore and the new motor would only fit the old gearbox after some work, so I decided to go with a new gear box as well.

It’s still ongoing, probably finished sometime in summer 2018. The car then has to undergo a full inspection and can then hit the road again.
